Hello Everyone
Well here it is. My 100th blog post. I started this blog about 14 months ago and have now completed 100 posts. I have shared various topics, pictures, drawings, and videos with you all. Thanks for reading. It means a lot that there is some out there that are interested in what I have to say.
Now on to today’s topics. First Cobourg Tae Kwon Do had a 11 person team in for the Relay for Life at St. Mary’s High School held on Friday June 4th from 7pm to Saturday June 5th at 7am. 12 hours of walking the track for cancer research. Our team raised over $3000 for this event. Overall our area raised over $265,000. Way to go everyone.
Our team consisted of Master Joyce Farrell, Master Gayle Richards, Richard Bernier, Ryan Donnelly, Scott Allen, Lynnea Carlson, Joanne Hall, Reilly Huffman, Alex Morrow, Jeff Morrow(Team Captain), and me Master Jonathan Field. It was a lot of fun and hard work. We got ran on a few times but you know what? Who cares. That little bit of hardship is nothing compared to what people with cancer have to go through. I think more people need to do Relay to help raise money to beat cancer and go through some hardship themselves.
And thanks to everyone that came out to supported us, walked with us, and brought treats for us. We appreciated it all very much. Thank You!
Next, on Sunday June 6th we had our second Team Wolverine Roast Beef Dinner fundraiser at the Cobourg Memorial Temple. It was a huge success. We raised enough cash to pay for everyone’s competition fees as well as most of their breaking material. Thanks to everyone who donated their time, donated stuff for the bake sale, and for donating pies for dessert. We thank you so much for your support and plan on making you proud of us at the 2010 US OPEN and ISKA World Championships.
Lastly, we have 8 members of Team Wolverine going to this year’s US OPEN. All 8 members will be competing in various breaking events as well as weapons and patterns events at the US OPEN level. I, Master Jonathan will be competing at the US OPEN level for breaking events. One is a qualifier for the world championships in power concrete breaking. I am also already pre-qualified and will be competing at the World Championships in 3 Directional Speed Power Breaking. This will be my third year competing at the World Championship level.
Okay, I think that is it for now.
Master Jonathan Field
Thanks Jonathan
It was a beautiful supper! We really enjoyed ourselves.
Good luck Team Wolverine!
