New Blog Look/Courtesy Challenge/Self Control

Hello Everyone

Well just in case you did not notice, I have changed the look of the blog. I like black but that colour was getting old to look at. I thought the blog needed a little more character so here is the new look. What do you think? Leave a comment and let me know what you think. No swearing or I will delete your comment though.

Also I want to remind you about my courtesy challenge. If you look at the above menu you will see a link that says “10,000 random acts of courtesy and kindness.” This is where I want everyone to list some good deeds that they have been doing. My goal is to get at least 10,000 random acts of courtesy and kindness posted on that page. The purpose of that page is to inspire others to be more aware of their actions and make them more conscious of doing good things for others. So please help me out and get posting those acts of kindness.

The last thing I want to talk about today is the word of the week. It is SELF CONTROL. This is the ability to control your actions emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Meaning you are in control of yourself in any situation. Now there is extreme situations where you cannot control yourself however 99.99% of the time you should be in control. Probably the best way to discuss this is through a few examples.

Example 1: Someone you know and yourself get into quite a heated argument and the tension keeps rising. You feel like hitting this person. You can either choose to lose control and hit this person or you can choose to stay in control and not hit this person and remain calm and try to resolve the situation in a peaceful manner. We all get angry sometimes. However we should be trying to control our reactions to that anger.

Example 2: Let’s say you are presented with your absolute favorite dessert food of all time. You absolutely love it to death. You would do anything for this food. Now you are told not to eat it until later. You are very hungry and want it now but you must not partake in the consumption of the dessert until alter. You are left alone with it. You can either surrender to your cravings and eat your favorite dessert or you can choose to wait and show self control. You will get to eat it later anyway.

Self control is also about doing things that have to be done either you like it or not. It kind of relates greatly to self discipline.

Well that is all for now. Remember to post your comments on the new look of the blog as well as your random acts of kindness on the 10,000 random acts of courtesy and kindness page.

Thanks,

Master Jonathan Field
