37TH ANNUAL ONTARIO PROVINCIAL OPEN MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Good Morning Everyone

On Saturday February 23, 2013 eleven students and myself competed at the 37th Annual Ontario Provincial Open Martial Arts Championships in Hamilton Ontario Canada.

8 out of 12 of us competitors walked away with 2nd through 5th place trophies and medals in sparring, weapons, and forms. We did a great job as some of the students never competed in a tournament before and others have very little experience. The Ontario is a pretty dare tough tournament. You get the best from across Ontario, Quebec, New York, Michigan, and even from Ireland.

I believe this was a valuable learning experience for the students and myself to see what the competitors are doing right now and for them to see what they have to work on.

Not willing is only a failure if you did not learn something from it. I believe sometimes not always winning is more valuable then always winning. It shows you what you are made of after you have been defeated. Do you choose to keep moving forward or do you just give up?!

Great job everyone, now time to get back to work.
