WORD OF THE WEEK: COURTESY

Courtesy – formal politeness, to be shown to all others at all times.

Not to be confused with showing respect. Courtesy is always given whereas respect is earned.

Courtesy is simply being polite and kind to others. Sometimes it is just how you address people and other times it is doing a little thing like holding the door for someone.

I think a good challenge for everyone to strive to do all the time is to use the seven courtesy words when interacting with others.

  1. Yes Sir
  2. No Sir
  3. Yes Ma’am
  4. No Ma’am
  5. Please
  6. Thank You
  7. You’re Welcome

Imagine if everyone remembered to use these all the time.
