STAGE TWO OF THE GROWTH CYCLE

Today we are going to cover stage two of the growth cycle. Yesterday we discussed stage one which was unconscious incompetence. Stage two is conscious incompetence.

This means that you know that you don’t know everything you need to know to accomplish your goals. You may realize that you have a lot to learn and a lot of new skills and habits that you need to build. You may feel overwhelmed that is there so much to do and you don’t really know where to start. You may be worried how you are going to accomplish your goals. Can you learn what you need to learn? Where do you go to learn it? Are you able to build new habits? Is your goals achievable? You may even feel as if this is not what you quite expected it to be.

This is all normal. Everyone goes through this stage where they feel uncertain. But like time it will pass. You will start to learn and build new habits. You will acquire new skills. You will meet the people that can help you along the way. You will make less and less mistakes. You will move from uncertain to being certain. It all takes time and trusting that you are on the right journey or path.

Tomorrow we will discuss stage three which is conscious competence.
