Kicking Only Beginner Sparring Drills | Self Defense For Women

Kicking Only Beginner Sparring Drills is a fun way to practice your kicking skills in more structured beginner-friendly sparring drills. Kicking in itself is a powerful striking asset to have during sparring matches as well in self defense situations. A lot of times, beginners get caught up with just using their hands to block and strike as it feels more natural but kicking is an essential element to be well rounded in both sparring and defending yourself. The legs can do so much more than you realize. Kicking sparring drills gives you the ability to control your sparring opponents or assailants by controlling distance, as well as using the kicks to disable your opponent and create opportunities to escape any given situation.

Sparring in itself is unpredictable as most self defense situations are. Martial Arts styles such as taekwondo, where you do a lot of sparring, are more practical for self defense because you aren’t just drilling with theory. You actually learn what sparring skills and self defense skills work for you. This is a key point we teach in our self defense for women workshops.\
