Cobourg Tae Kwon Do adult message of the week compare yourself to your potentialThis week’s Adult Message of the Week is Compare Yourself To Your Potential

We live in a world where everyone is comparing themselves to each other. This person has this. I can’t do this like the that person. Easy for them to do. and Etc,. Well two things right off the bat. 1. Life is not fair and everyone has their own advantages. 2. Comparison is the theft of Joy!

You see, it is not fair to compare yourself to anyone else. We all have our own unique strengths, weaknesses, successes, failures, and etc,. We are all different. We all have talents that others don’t No matter how hard we try we may never be as good as someone else at any given thing. But on the other hand we may be really good at something else that they are not.

To be happier and more productive we all should focus on comparing ourselves to our own potentials. Where are we now? With what we have now what are our potentials? If we work hard and smart enough can we reach those potentials? Do we have to learn some new things? Do we have to relearn the basics? Do we need to ask for help. Do we have to simply work and try harder?

ALso comparing yourself to your own potentials helps you set goals that are realistic for you. How do you know what your potentials are? Well what are you good at? Listen to your instincts. It is very rare that your instincts are wrong. Listen to them and see your potentials. Once you find them, develop them. See yourself now and see how far you can go. Then enjoy the process of getting their. It’s the journey that you will soon realize that is more important.

ADULT MESSAGE OF THE WEEK: Respect & Courtesy

This week’s Adult Message of the Week is Respect & Courtesy.

respect and courtesy cobourg tae kwon do adult martial artsRespect and Courtesy is the fundamentals of Martial Arts training as well as being good human beings.

There is two main types of Respect. One is respect for yourself. This means to take care of your mind, body, and spirit. Be careful what you allow to get into your head and talk positively and encouraging to yourself. Treat your body right. You know how. Eat right, exercise, don’t put things into your body that can cause health problems.

Number two way of respect is showing respect and courtesy towards others. This shows you are emotionally mature to deal with anything that comes your way. Why not show everyone a little respect and courtesy? Doing so creates great bonds and friendships, strengthens relationships of both romantic and non romantic kinds, creates a more peaceful and constructive environment for all those around. Being Respectful and Courteous is the way of a mature Black Belt.

Being respectful is a habit like anything else. You need to consistently practice it all the time. It takes 21 days for a new habit to be established. So over the nest 21 days be mindful of all the ways you can show courtesy and respect and do so. Then go beyond the 21 days and continue on for all your days. You will be amazed at how your life and the life of others around you will be more pleasant.
