EMPOWERED’s FIT12 is now LIVE!!!

It’s been in the works for five months now but Empowered’s FIT12 12 week fitness program is now Live. Originally the concept of Ma’am Cheryl sanders, the co-founder of EMPOWERED, alongside myself. She originally came up with an idea of a 5 Day Self Defense Fitness Challenge for our YouTube channel. The challenge did pretty well so we thought we could make a fitness program to help ladies and young girls with their physical strength and cardiovascular health.

Taking what Ma’am Cheryl deigned for the 5 day fitness challenge, we created three 12 week fitness programs consisting of 30, 40, and 50-minute workouts that will challenge any fitness and fit into any busy schedule. We also show you how you can tailor FIT12 to your needs.

FIT12 comes with a nutrition guide to help you with your weight goals and also includes calculators to help you figure out your Macros, TDEE, and BMR.

The workouts include upper body, lower body, full body, cardio, and core exercises to challenge you in unique ways to help you achieve your fitness goals while being fun.

You can get more details about FIT12 and receive a 25% discount on the regular price before October 26th at the following link.

Catching The Leg Beginner Sparring Drills | Self Defense For Women

Learn how to catch the leg in these beginner sparring drills helps you to control what kicks are thrown at you during sparring as you make your opponent question which kicks to throw. These beginner-friendly sparring drills also help you with your self defense skills as you will learn how to catch a kick and throw your attacker off balance. This will give you the opportunity to escape the situation. In sparring, it is common in various martial arts styles to catch the leg to set up takedowns and effective counter strikes.

Sparring in itself is unpredictable as most self defense situations are. Martial Arts styles such as taekwondo, where you do a lot of sparring, are more practical for self defense because you aren’t just drilling with theory. You actually learn what sparring skills and self defense skills work for you. This is a key point we teach in our self defense for women workshops.

Offensive Versus Defense Beginner Sparring Drills | Self Defense For Women

Offensive Versus Defense Beginner Sparring Drills allow you to focus on either your offensive sparring skills or your defensive sparring skills at one time. Normally you get thrown into a sparring class and you are focusing on so many different elements of sparring that you don’t really get good at anything for a while. Being able to just focus on a few key sparring elements allows you to progress much faster. It is the same when it comes to self defense training as well. You don’t need a million different defenses for every attack. Knowing a few defenses that work against multiple attacks is much easier to learn and get better at quicker.
