TEAM WOLVERINE RESULTS AT 2015 US OPEN, WBA WORLDS, ISKA WORLDS

Good Morning

Here is the results for Team Wolverine from the 2015 US OPEN, WBA Worlds, and ISKA Worlds. Our team did great in spite the more competitive divisions in the advance and black belt divisions in recent years. It was nice to see more black belts in the teen divisions as well as in the adult female divisions. Each year brings new challenges and we are always up for the challenge. Win or Learn, we do our best!

Thanks to the USBA/WBA and the ISKA for putting on world class competitions.

RANDON KINDNESS

When was the last time you did some random act of kindness or courtesy for someone else with no expectations of anything in return?

Do you remember the last time you were on the receiving end of one? Do you remember how good it felt?

Why not pass along that good feeling to someone else? You know when you do that that person most likely will pass it along too!

Whatever behaviour or attitude you have with someone at any moment could be pass along to many people. So why not pass along a positive and generous attitude?!

WIN OR LOSE, IT DOESN’T MATTER

Whether you win or lose, does not not really matter.

No one is keeping track or recording stats on you.

And if they are, that is their concern not yours. You should be flattered that they are showing that must interest in you.

But no, what really matters is the effort you put forth. Did you give it your all, your 100%?!

It’s the fact that you are willing to try and risk failure which is more important. Putting yourself on the line and out there for all to see.

Your spirit grows as you challenge yourself against your own self doubts.Rise above what you believe is impossible and make it possible.

One is not measured by how successful they are against others but by how successful they have become against themselves.

Life is not a scoreboard of wins and loses. Life is too short to care about silly things like that.

YOUR JOURNEY IS YOUR JOURNEY

The journey you travel throughout your life is your own unique journey and not of anyone else.

You cannot compare your journey to others nor should you.

Each and every single person has their own unique path in which they follow.

Your path is not comparable to someone else’s.

Your accomplishments are different than others. You may see what you have achieved more important than someone else’s and they will do the same for theirs. It’s all the same.

No two people an ever have the same journey. Too many factors are involved like past life experiences, present attitudes, current life situations, and so on.

Someone might achieve more in one area of their life and another person will achieve more in different areas. Ultimately it does not matter who does what to anyone else.

You should be focused on the quality of your journey and not of others. Their journey is not your journey.

Don’t compete with others. Life is not a competition.

VICTORIA DAY WEEKEND

Just a friendly reminder that this Monday is Victoria Day so there will be no regular classes except for kettle bells at 8:30am and Black Belt Team Building at 9:30am.

Also long weekends are a chance to relax and recharge your batteries. You do not have to go full tilt all the time. Sometimes it is okay to go lighter somedays and harder on other days. It’s all about finding the right balance for you. Everyone is slightly different but we all need a little rest here and there.

MANY WAYS OF EXPERIENCES

There is many ways one can experience something.

Experiences are unique and not two people will experience the same thing exactly the same.

How we experiences things is made up of many factors including but not limited to; our past experiences, our education, our family lives, our genetics, our attitude, our beliefs, and so forth.

Though this will help determine how we experience things another thing to add is how we actually experience the same things.

Different ways to experiences things are but not limited to; reading about something, watching videos, listening to others experiences, physically experiencing something, telling others about your experiences, imagining something, and so forth.

Experiences are unique and valuable to each individual. No two alike. Experiences belong to us and us alone.

BUSY WEEKS

Busy weeks don’t have to be so hard on you.

If you simply take care of one thing at a time everything gets done.

Why is that? Because if you can put all your focus on one thing at a time it gets done quicker and better.

Trying to split your focus on too many things at once is a recipe for things not getting done.

Remember that there is only one you. How can one person do many of things at once? Some can but most cannot.

Use your one self to focus on a single task or two at a time and commit all your focus on getting them completed before moving forward to the next.

There is a lot less stress to be had this way. And I for one like when there is very little stress when it comes to a bunch of things that need to be done.

When you learn to focus on getting one thing done at a time you will soon find that you can get more things done in a shorter time period and you won’t be as “busy” as you thought.

WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD?

If you want to help change the world for the better, try doing random acts of kindness for others.

But not just for those you know but for everyone.

One of the things that I believe that every person on this planet wants is for other people to treat them nice.

If we all went out of our way here and there to be extra kind to those that are around us and to those we don’t know, everyone would feel better.

If we started to create an environment where most people are happier more often if not all the time we would see changes in our society that would be for the good.

If everyone took a few moments each day to realize that everyone else on this planet have the same hopes and dreams of being safe and happy. How would our attitudes change?

I think it would spread like wild fire. It’s like a chain reaction.

If you do something nice for someone and it makes them feel good most likely they will past it along to the next person. Then that person may do the same and it may go on and on.

The exact opposite can happen too. If you are in spoor mood and release that on someone else it may affect their day. They may pass that along to the next and the next and so forth.

What would you rather pass on?

To change the world for the better we simply have to start with small gestures of kindness.

WHICH STYLE IS THE BEST?

Which style of Martial Arts is the best?

Simply put; the style you train in is the best.

The style you train that suits your needs is the best one for you.

There is really no real best martial arts style out there.

They all have their own unique techniques, strategies, concepts, rules, culture, and etc,.

They all have their own strengths and weaknesses.

In today’s era we live in a relatively safe time compared to the rest of history.

We don’t have mass amounts of countries invading other countries using hand held weapons or engaging in hand to hand combat.

Martial Arts has evolved more into self defense and self preservation.

What I mean about self preservation is that martial arts training helps us improve or maintain good physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health plus teaches us how to physically defend ourselves and our loved ones.

Martial Arts is a way of fitness with a purpose for some and a sport for others. Some few it as a hobby. Others like myself see it as a way of life.

With so many factors and some many different people studying the arts there is bound to be various styles for various people.

Comparing someone’s style to another person’s style is like comparing apples with nuts. Haha you thought I was going to say oranges, yes? Anyway apples and nuts or oranges are two to three completely different things.

One should not concern themselves with what other people are training or who has the best style.

The focus should be on your training in the style you are doing.

If the arts that you are studying and practicing makes you feel good and you are benefitting from it than that is the one for you.
