PROGRESSION

Either you are making progression or you are not making progression.

I look at progression in this fashion. If I am working towards a goal and have a specific date that I want to complete my goal then I make progression from now til the date.

I might make slow progression or I might make fast progression or somewhere in between. If my progression is fast I might complete my goal on time or sooner then expected.

If my progression is slow it might take me longer than I thought to complete my goal. But at least I am progressing.

This is where a lot of people fail at completing goals and progressing. They see progressing slower than they had envision as a bad thing and decide to give up all together.

Well if you quite because of slow progression than you will never complete your goal at all.

Time will pass regardless if you are working towards something or not. You can’t change that. But you can decide to spend the time working towards or goals or not to. Time passes anyway.

Six months from now you can either make some progression or none at all. Time waits for no one.

A STEP BACKWARDS……

A step backwards gives you the advantage

Now what do you think this means?

I think it means that when you step back from any given situation you can have a clearer view of what is really going on.

Taking a step back allows you the time you need to think and react in a more controlled manner.

Taking a step back allows you to see from many possible angles.

Stepping back gives you the time to make the best decisions possible with the information and time a lotted.

Taking a step back allows for adjustments in your plans.

Taking a step back is not a bad thing. It’s all about how you view things.

FAIL TO PLAN…..

Failure to plan is planning to fail.

If you want to succeed at whatever it is you are doing you need to plan. Failing to plan leaves the doors wide open to many things going not quite the way you would like.

But with you plan you need to be relaxed enough to allow for adjustments. Sometimes plans need to be flexible in order to succeed.

If you fail to plan success may be very limited if not at all. Yes certain things you don’t really need to plan out to succeed but the big things normally do. But allow for changes to be made to your plans when needed. Sometimes sticking to a plan too strictly can cause great failure.

Be prepared and success will come more often and failure will be less and less.

ALL THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNIVERSE

If you had the chance to know all there is to know about everything that has and will ever exist in this universe would you take it?

I don’t know about you but i certainly would not take the chance or the opportunity to know everything.

If you knew everything you would miss out on pretty much every life experience you possibly could have.

I think you would get real bored knowing everything because there is nothing new to learn or experience.

I would rather wake up every morning knowing that I will learn something new, experience new things, make mistakes and learn from them.

I would rather have many failures and successes. Strive to improve myself each and every day.

I would rather wake up knowing that I really don’t know what is out there.

All I know is life is about learning and experiencing.

THOUGHTS IN YOUR HEAD

Every moment of every day we have thoughts in our head.

Some of these thoughts are positive ones that do us good.

Some of these thoughts are negative ones that can cause us harm.

Some of these thoughts are neutral and just seem to pass their way by.

Some thoughts are unique to you and only you.

Other thoughts are experienced by everyone.

Certain thoughts that may be in your head may not even really be yours but the opinions of others.

Some thoughts are original where others are not.

Some thoughts are valuable to you where others not so much.

Some thoughts are happy and others are sad.

In any case there is many thoughts in your head throughout any given day. It is up to you to use the ones that are the most valuable to your mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health.

EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN JOURNEY IN LIFE

Everyone has their own journey in life.

A journey that is uniquely their own.

Not like the one you are on or like the one I am on. But their own journey.

Full of unique mistakes, failures, successes, wins, and experiences.

Full of their own personal goals, ambitions, and accomplishments. They have them. You have them. I have them.

We are all uniquely different. Hard to compare one person to another for each of our journeys is so vastly different.

Respect that we all travel different paths. Not wrong because it’s a different path but different than yours or mine.

One degree difference at the beginning of a journey can change the final destination and the path dramatically.

Understand that 4 billion people will have 4 billion journeys. And that is OKAY!

Deflecting Negative Energy

This blog entry was partially inspired by a facebook post I read earlier today(yesterday for you) written by Dave Kovar. A brilliant Master Martial Arts Instructor and Martial Artist. His post was about how he deflects negative energy. He went into a few examples of this and it got me to thinking about what he said and about my own views and experiences with negative energy and negative people. So after much thought as you all know I tend to think a lot on various topics, I thought I would write a little something on this topic.

In everyday life we run into various situations, people, and environments that are positive, negative, and neutral. We obviously want to only deal with the positive or at the bare minimum the neutral but we also tend to run into the negatives as well. It is just how things work out. But the good news is we can do things to help deflect some of this negative energy away from us.

For starters we can look to avoid going to places that have negative environments. Is there certain neighbourhoods, parks, bars, public places, and etc,. that negative stuff allows seems to happen because they attract people what cause the negative things to happen. If you know that such and such place is not a good place for you to be hanging out in, why would you go to that place? You can deflect some negative energy by avoiding places that breed the not so good energy.

Another things you can do is to try to avoid negative people. I know this is easier said than done. Sometimes you can’t avoid them based on your work, and etc,. However you can minimize your interaction with those people. There is people out there that seem to always have problems/issues with their jobs, their friends, their co-workers, their children, their children’s friends, other parents, teachers/instructors, the government, and so on and so forth. We all have days where we are off and not our upbeat selves. That is perfectly natural but wasting your time on those that make everyday negative for themselves and others is a waste of time. Avoid dealing with them. If you must, keep it to a bare minimum and don’t give them a second thought.

I, unfortunately am a little slow when it comes to this last one. I tend to give people a second, third, fourth and more chances than some people deserve. I let some people carry on with their negativity for some time before it starts to bother me. But over the past year or so I have really tried to focus on the positive stuff that is going on. I tried to avoid the negatives. I focused on trying to create positives. How can I help others? That is my focus. Also through self reflection I see that most of the people who were extremely negative in my personal or professional life did not last long around me. Too much conflict between my agenda of trying to create positive and helping others versus their negative attitudes. I also see that everyone including myself has their off days and moments but it is what you do with those off moments that count. You can dwell on the negatives or you can focus on finding the positives. If there is no positives, how can you create the positives? If that cannot be done, how can you walk away with minimal damage done?

To deflect negative energy, try to avoid negative people, negative situations, not so good environments, and dwelling on the negatives. You have for the most part the power to choose what you do and how you deal with any given situation/person. You can decide whether you focus on the negatives or the positives. It is up to you to create positives in your life.

GIVE IT A LITTLE EXTRA

No matter what you are doing or working on, give it a little extra. A little extra can go a long way in getting you in better shape, eating healthier, getting a promotion, improving your relationships, and so much more.

If you are use to just doing what the minimum is to coast through life you won’t feel the enjoyment of a job well done, or the admiration of others, or the love of others to the fullest extend.

Whatever it is that you are doing, give it the 100% effort then add another 10% on top of that. Even if you believe you can’t do it, do it anyway.

Make it a habit of going above and beyond. Making this a habit will only improve the quality of your life through improvements in self confidence, self respect, and discipline. These character traits can take you a long way in all areas you choose to excel in.

Everything great in this world that was created was by people who gave it that little extra. They drove themselves to be better. They worked on making the impossible possible.

What can you do in your everyday life to improve what you are doing? What can you go above and beyond in? WHat areas do you need to give it a 110%?

A lot of little extras add up to big things!
