SELF CONTROL

Good Morning Everyone

Let’s talk briefly about Self Control this morning. Basically we all know what self control is so I do not need to go into explaining it. However a lot of people have trouble defining the procedure of how to use self control or how to go about using it. I came across this simple procedure by Tom Callos then I expanded upon it in more detail to make it more clearer so you won’t have to ask any questions after.

When presented with a situation whether positive, Negative, or neutral follow this formula.

STOP – Stop what you are doing. Don’t react to it. Take the time to not do anything.

THINK – Take the time to think about and do the next two steps.

WHAT COULD HAPPEN? – Think about what could happen in this situation if you react, behave, perform, and etc,. in certain ways being positive, negative, or neutral. Think about the different possibilities.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO HAPPEN? – Think about what you truly want the outcome to be? Do you want to turn any given situation into a positive, negative, or a neutral experience? How will it effective you and everyone else?

Self Control is about thinking clearly and doing what is best for everyone and yourself give or take a little based on the challenges presented to you.
